Bird watching walk Join us on 28 October to celebrate National Bird Week with a walk around Jacana Wetlands. You'll learn about the habits and lives of Hume's diverse birdlife using the Birds of Hume field guide to identify different birds and the Aussie Bird Count smartphone app. Hume's festival season is almost here! This means there are lots of great events to add to your calendar: Carols by Candlelight at ANZAC Park, Craigieburn, on 1 December, Christmas in the Plaza in Broadmeadows on 14 December, Summer Sessions from 11 January to 22 February, Craigieburn Festival on 2 March and Broadmeadows Street Festival on 7 April. Splash Birthday Party! Guess who's one? Splash Aqua Park and Leisure Centre celebrates its first birthday on 2 October. Join us for a full day of activities including free waterslides, pool games, face painting and fluro fitness classes! There will also be membership and Bunjil Wellness Centre discounts on offer. What's on and things to do Business Breakfast The Hume Business Breakfast on 16 November is a great opportunity for businesses to network, expand client bases, access current business information, and to hear quality guest speakers while enjoying excellent surroundings. This event will be held at Aitken Hill, Yuroke. Tax Help If you earned less than $60,000 in the last financial year and need to lodge a tax return, you may be eligible for the free Tax Help service, available until 31 October. This service helps people in the community complete their tax return and other basic tax enquiries. Seniors Festival There's lots on for Hume's older residents during Victorian Seniors Festival. Between 8 and 12 October, Council's leisure centres are providing a range of free activities such as singing, yoga, craft and meditation. Plus, the Lynda Blundell Seniors Centre will be hosting a Seniors Day out on 26 October. View the full program online.
