Enthusiastic volunteers are called on to help at Hume's major events and festivals in 2017/18. Many positions are available where you can join our fun festival crew and assist with all aspects and delivery of an event or festival. Roles include pre-event bump-in, general event assistance, backstage hands, information tent attendants, activity assistants, satisfaction survey collectors and traffic marshals. Anyone who lives, works or studies in Hume City can help out, as no experience is necessary! Applicants must be 16 years or older to apply. A volunteer-level Working with Children Check may be required (free of charge). Volunteers will also undergo an induction before the event and receive an OHS overview onsite. Craigieburn Festival A massive one-day celebration will be held at Craigieburn ANZAC Park. Featuring headline acts, community and cultural performances, roving entertainment, free kids activities, market and information stalls, food trucks, carnival rides, fireworks and the new "Tastes of Hume". Saturday 3 March 2018, 11.30am – 9.30pm Hume Carols by Candlelight Carols are returning to Craigieburn in December! Join us for the largest party under the stars, as Craigieburn ANZAC Park comes to life with entertainment for everyone. Keep an eye on Council's website for upcoming details. Summer Movie Sessions If sitting back and watching a movie in the park with friends and family sounds fun, then get excited! Summer Sessions is returning in 2018 across various locations in Hume and will feature family-friendly films, food trucks and entertainment. January – March Broadmeadows Street Festival Lock it in the calendar – the party is coming to Broadmeadows! Tanderrum Way will light up with the best food trucks, music and dancing. Expect an afternoon of entertainment, kids activities and carnival rides. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display.
